Job Description: The Institute for Social and Economic Research Policy (www.iserp.columbia.edu) is seeking a Marketing Assistant to assist with light office administrative work, and creative design projects. The Marketing Assistant will be expected to help with art projects, research, and generating reports.
Job Requirements: The ideal candidate may come from any one of several backgrounds, such as Communications or Fine Arts, but all students may also apply. The Marketing Assistant should be familiar standard administrative applications such as MS Word, Outlook and Excel. Familiarity with HTML and/or digital graphic production is preferred but not necessary.
Hours: 5-8hrs per week
Rate: $12/hr

Job Description: The Institute for Social and Economic Research Policy (www.iserp.columbia.edu) is seeking an Office Assistant to aid in general administrative duties for the department. Responsibilities include: developing/maintaining department databases; accounting tasks such as account filing, collating financial reports, creating grant files, and preparing backup documentation for financial transactions; mail services; calendar; answering phones; receiving visitors; moving files and other items; filing, scanning, and photocopying. Flexible hours are offered during finals and other such busy times of the year. ASAP start date preferred, to continue over the spring and potentially into the summer and fall based on interest and capacity.
Job Requirements: Proactive, detail-oriented, and quick learner/creative thinker/problem solver. Research Assistant position at DeclareDesign
DeclareDesign is a framework for characterizing and diagnosing arbitrary research designs, for use in pre-analysis plans, power calculations, pre-registration, and other forms of research communication. We are seeking a research assistant to help with a research paper about the framework. The task involves characterizing the designs of dozens of published experiments in political science, first informally in English, and then formally in code using R. Thus, the main requirements are a thorough understanding of experimental design in empirical research and strong familiarity with R.
Hours: 20hrs per week with the possibility of more in the future
Rate: $20/hr

The Tutoring & Learning Center
The Tutoring & Learning Center provides free tutoring & academic support to high school students in Harlem and Morningside Heights. For Spring 2017, we're working with Columbia Secondary School and Democracy Prep Charter High School.
We are currently recruiting federal work-study tutors for geometry and algebra 2 with our program for spring semester. We work at local high schools, usually in the after-school hours (between 2:30pm and 6pm), with small groups of students to help with homework, review concepts, and prepare for exams, as well as some engage in some mentoring components.
We offer training as well as on-going professional development. All of our tutors must be able to clear background checks and complete fingerprinting with the NYC Department of Education. No prior tutoring experience is necessary. Federal work study only.
Rate: $15/hr
